Former Playboy model Dani Mathers, who was accused of body-shaming a naked elderly woman on Snapchat, pleaded not guilty to invasion-of-privacy charges on Monday. The Los Angeles Times reports that the 29-year-old faces a misdemeanor count of invasion of privacy after she shared a photo of a 70-year-old woman changing in an L.A. Fitness facility and captioned it, “If you can’t un-see this, I can’t either.” City Attorney Mike Feuer said in a statement last month that Mathers’ actions should be taken seriously by the court. “Body-shaming is humiliating, with often painful, long-term consequences,” he said. “It mocks and stigmatizes its victims, tearing down self-respect and perpetuating the harmful idea that our unique physical appearances should be compared to air-brushed notions of ‘perfect.’” If convicted, Mathers faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
