McDonald’s Is Rolling Out Table Service at All U.S. Locations #Jp

McDonald’s announced on Thursday that it is rolling out touch-screen kiosk ordering, craft burgers and table service to all of its 14,000 U.S. stores next year. CNBC reports that the new system will allow customers to order and pay at a bank of kiosks, though counter service will be available for those who prefer to pay with cash or interact with staff. Afterward, they get a bluetooth-enabled number placard to a table where an employee brings the food. “Food ordering is one of the most enjoyable moments at restaurants, but at McDonald’s that can be one of the most stressful moments,” CEO Steve Easterbrook explains. The aim of the new setup is to eliminate that frustration and make it easier for customers to customize, upgrade and add on items to their orders. The fast-food chain’s “experience of the future” has already had significant success across Europe, the U.K. and Australia.
