Lil Wayne sparked controversy on Tuesday when he said during an interview with Nightline that he wants nothing to do with the Black Lives Matter movement. “I am a young black rich motherf**ker,” Wayne explains. “If that don’t let you know that America understand black motherf**kers matter these days, I don’t know what it is.” The rapper goes on to say that he doesn’t identify with the movement because it has nothing to do with him. “Feeling connected to something that ain’t got nothin’ to do with you? If it ain’t got nothin’ to do with me, I ain’t connected to it,” he added. Wayne’s latest comments come nearly two months after he claimed that “there’s no such thing as racism” in the United States.
