Donald Glover is planning a trip to a galaxy far, far away. Variety reports that theAtlanta creator has been tapped to play the coveted role of young Lando Calrissian in the planned Han Solo standalone movie. Slated to be a prequel to Star Wars: A New Hope, the Han Solo project already stars Alden Ehrenreich in the title role. Testing for the Calrissian role reportedly had gone on for months, with Glover beating out actors including Straight Outta Compton‘s O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Jason Mitchell for the part. Production is set to begin in January, with a May 25, 2018 release date.
